Under this scheme, New Industrial Units are provided exemption from paying Electricity Duty upto 5 years on Industrial Electricity Consumption from the date of commencement of production.
• New Industrial Units will be eligible for exemption from Electricity Duty for industrial electricity consumption for 5 years from the date of commencement of production.
• The Existing Industrial Units undergoing expansion will be eligible for exemption from Electricity Duty for industrial electricity consumption at the expansion Unit for 5 years from the date of commencement of production.
• The subsidy is in the form of exemption, therefore, the bill amount will be reduced.
• Electricity Connection must be in the name of firm. However, for Proprietorship concern, the connection can be in the name of owner.
• Subsidy application must be submitted within 90 days from the date of commencement of production or the delay period will be deducted from the exemption period.
• The expansion should be more than 50% of existing capital investment or more than Rs. 100 crore.
